Artist Declaration

I spent 20 years working in a bank.  I knew there was more to life than banking and after studying the two year diploma course with the Society of Botanical Artists I was selected to become an associate member of the Society.  I was awarded the diploma with distinction.

I have exhibited my works at the Society's annual exhibition in Westminster City Hall, London, and in several venues in SW France and Bermuda.   My work is meticulous and highly detailed, always working from live material at the initial stages of the study.  Often these watercolour paintings can take two to three months of intensive work to complete.

I am especially interested in studies of the flora of the SW of France and in particular the orchids that are naturalised in this region, including the bee, fly, pyramid and lizard orchids.
